What We Do
In cooperation with coaches, players, family, friends, and volunteers, the staff of the Santa Fe Young American Football League (YAFL) is committed to the following objectives:
Providing a safe, fun, positive and sportsmanlike environment for boys and girls to learn the fundamentals of the truly great sport of American football;
Teaching and encouraging participation in the sport of American football while developing the value of teamwork;
Promoting the physical and emotional well being of young people by encouraging participation in American football and related activities, in an effort to prevent juvenile delinquency;
Furthering good sportsmanship and the importance of physical activity in the lives of participants while promoting positive physical and emotional development of players;
Developing a standard of values and ethics, which demonstrates sportsmanship and positive representation of self, team, school and community; and
Carrying out competitive games and exhibits in the City of Santa Fe and the State of New Mexico.

We're gearing up for another great season!
We hope that you thoroughly enjoyed the 2011 season with the Santa Fe Young America Football
League (SF YAFL), Santa Fe’s Premier Youth Football league. If you want to play in the 2012 season, you must register in person at one of the registration sessions listed below:
April 14th April 21st May 5th May 12th May 19th
June 2nd June 16th June 23rd
Registration fee is $140.00 and includes a 1 year AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) extended benefit
membership, which provides the benefit of secondary sports accident insurance and extends coverage when participating in non-AAU events.
All fees are non-refundable

Registrations will be held at the Santa Fe YAFL Headquarters
1751 ½ Cerrillos Road (located behind the Fire Station at Ashbaugh Park)
from 10 AM until 1 p.m.
Additional late registrations sessions will be announced as needed on the
website www.santafeyafl.org and via Facebook www.facebook.com/pages/Santa-Fe-

The league will consist of three divisions according to the following age
and weight limitations w/ NO EXCEPTIONS
Division 1: 6, 7 & 8 years olds
Weight limit: up to 110 lbs
Exceptions: 9 year old, 60 lbs or less may remain within this division
Division 2: 9 & l0 year olds
Weight limit: up to 160 lbs
Exceptions: 11 year old, 70 lbs or less may remain within this division
Division 3: 11 & 12 years olds
Weight limit: up to 185 lbs
Practices are tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-July.2012
Season is tentatively scheduled to start mid-August 2012 (cannot be
finalized until the teams are Established for each division)

1. The player and parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must be present in order to register.
2. All registrations must occur at one of the above official registration sessions. Coaches are not
allowed to register players. The League is not responsible for any fees paid directly to a
Coach(es)
3. Every player will be weighed at the time of registration to ensure eligibility and proper placement.
4. Proof of age and school attendance (report card) is required at the time of registration (Birth
certificate or photo id must be presented) to ensure eligibility and proper placement.
5. Payment must be made in full at the time of registration, cashier’s check or cash only.
